Patet Lugtu's blog (for favorite movie)

How can you not love Mean Girls? I’ve seen it more than 30 times, and never get sick of it that I memorize almost the whole script.

I like this movie because I can relate to it. Believe it or not, some scenes that looked exaggerated would really happen in real life, in Woodrose. It’s really evident in the youth today and to see a sort of “reenactment” of high school makes the movie nice even though it’s where I get most of my kaartehan from. There’s nothing new about it, and nothing that I haven’t seen a thousand times before but it’s funny and entertaining. Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams will always be Cady Heron and Regina George to me which means they were good actresses. Everyone in high school can probably relate to this – from JV jocks, Asian nerds, cool Asians, girls who eat their feelings, girls who don’t eat anything, unfriendly black hotties..

It’s the only movie that would ask if butter is a carb, that has rules on wearing pink on Wednesdays, and where you would meet some one who’s “almost too gay to function.” Tina Fey did a great job making the lines sound so natural and something that will stick to the mind of anyone who watches it.

What's my favorite movie?

I had quite a hard time with this blog, because I had to pick one movie from all my favorite movies. Turns out, I still haven't picked. But among all the movies I like, I've chosen my top 4, and decided to write a little about each instead and why I consider them my favorites.

#1 THE BREAKFAST CLUB
I fell in love with this movie immediately. It shows how 5 different teenagers of different stereotypes are brought together by detention, and during those hours together, they show who they really are and bring out their real selves. I love the concept of this movie and the message it gives out. It shows us the shallow side of highschool and what life is really about. Definitely a favorite. ;)

#2 MOULIN ROUGE!
How can you not fall in love with Ewan McGregor in this film. :D I love the story and the songs. I was never a fan of Nicole Kidman, but I really love her in this movie. This also falls under my favorite love films, because the story of Christian and Satine isn't THAT common and predictable.

#3 13 GOING ON 30
The storyline of this movie is so unique and I can never seem to get tired of watching this over and over again. It is the type of movie you'd like to watch when you're bored and sad. It gives me that good feeling every time, even though I've watched it a lot of times already.

#4 PRIME
And this is because I love Bryan Greenberg. I hate Uma Thurman, but she looks so much better in this movie compared to her other ones. The love story of David and Rafi in the story is exciting, *kakakilig*, and unpredictable. This is probably why I liked the movie so much, because it wasn't any typical love story.
